Preservation Month Celebration May 20th at Pioneer Endicott

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Preservation Month Celebration at Pioneer Endicott Planned for May 20, 2014

The Preservation Alliance of Minnesota hosts a gathering with sneak-peek tours of the newly transformed Pioneer Endicott apartment complex, partnering with local businesses and the Minnesota Museum of American Art to celebrate the renovation of these beautiful buildings and all things preservation.

St. Paul, MN – May 1, 2014—The Preservation Alliance of Minnesota (PAM) plans to celebrate Preservation Month and the reuse of the Pioneer and Endicott buildings in Downtown St Paul. PAM presents an open house with sneak-peek tours of the complex to see the progress that has been made in the restoration of this historic property on Tuesday May 20th, 2014 from 6-8pm.

The event will include free wine and tours guided by educated leasing staff. Additionally, PAM is partnering with a few of the businesses that are going in to the first few levels of the space. Revival Wine Beer and Spirits will be doing a wine sampling that evening, Legacy Chocolates will provide chocolate samples and the Minnesota Museum of American Art will be open late for the chance to check out their newest exhibit. Lastly, Sassy Spoon food truck will be on hand for late night bites.

The Cass Gilbert-designed Endicott building, built in 1890, is connected to the Pioneer building. Built in 1889, the Pioneer building was St. Paul’s first skyscraper, as well as former home to the Pioneer Press. Together they will soon become a 234-unit luxury apartment complex complete with commercial space along the first and second floors.

Preservation Month is promoted by local preservation groups and state historical societies across the country. Many events are scheduled with the goal of instilling community pride, promoting heritage tourism and showing the economic and social benefits of historic preservation.

The Preservation Alliance of Minnesota, one of the only state-wide preservation organizations in the region, is co-sponsoring Minnesota Preservation Month in May in partnership with local businesses, organizations and new preservation development projects. PAM’s Preservation Month activities are held to bring awareness of the important historic resources that give meaning and a sense of place to our State.
