Sherman plans renovation of Duluth’s NorShor Theater

Duluth will turn over ownership of the historic NorShor Theater and Temple Opera building to a Twin Cities developer as part of a redevelopment effort.

The Duluth News Tribune reports that George Sherman, principal of Minneapolis-based Sherman Associates, plans a $19 million remodeling and expects to reopen the theater in 2014. If he doesn’t, he’ll have to pay the city $2.6 million for the buildings.
